Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing
Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is a type of skin resurfacing that uses carbon dioxide lasers to treat skin tissue. It works by creating microscopic holes in the skin to help produce more collagen, making your skin look healthier and younger. There are two types of fractional CO2 lasers: ablative and non-ablative. Ideal candidates for this procedure range from 40 to 70 years old, and suffer from severe acne, moderate to deep wrinkles, significant sun damage, blotchy skin, scars on arms/legs/chest/neck, or precancerous growths.
Recovery time generally ranges between two to three weeks depending on the area treated. However some side effects may occur such as swelling of the treated area, redness of the skin, moderate skin irritation, burning or scarring, and a change in pigmentation.
